Waiting on my dinner to arrive
I was thinking about having a fry-up with tomatoes instead of beans
and real butter on cold toast so it wouldn't melt in so fast
The car tires grinded against the pebbled driveway
And he finally comes in through the front door

Hey Pops; how was it..?
What..?
Work..!
Arrgghh I’ve had a pig of a day,
I’ll tell you now son
you live and learn,
stay in school as long as you can
You don’t even know you’re bloody born yet!

Into the top cabinet for the his glass and bottle
Forgotten about my fry-up for a minute
he'd Seen the book on the kitchen table
few sums before supper
He'd do it using his method and I'd use it mine
so that way he's not doing all the work
We both got the same answer but
he said id gone about it wrong.

Eyes evaporating back into the ether
coat back on its peg for the journey home
Lucy asks can i come in early tomorrow morning and finish off her paperwork
That dread carries on my thoughts into the elevator down
and whilst
I Waited my turn to be shoe horned onto the tram
I'm not claustrophobic people just frustrate me
breathe in
One leg carries the other in
through the my front door

Paper, pot, patience and
breathe easy in turn
nothing on my mind
smile at noel
and noel at me
me at Tommy
and
Tommy with Noel
all smiling
'Have a Cigar' playing in the background
nothing on my mind
A+

I know the feeling.  This was an enjoyable read, but I got confused at the end.  (Don't worry, confusion is my confidant.)

I think, therefore I'm lost.
