Something Strange Happened Last night (True Story)

You know it's not right
When the mattress has no sheet
When the place where your head is
Is meant for your feet

When you wake and look up
Bewildered, mind fled
And instead of a mirror
You see the bookcase instead,
The cupboard or a broom
Because the place you woke up in
Is in fact the spare room

You know it's not right
on visiting the bedroom,
Last night's clothes on the floor
As ever they are

You know it's not right after three years of dwelling
In a home with two bedrooms
The spare never slept in
To wake up this morning
In a room made for writing...

What happened... ?

Sounds like you got drunk.  I had a roommate that woke up in the ditch outside our old house one time.  It was a concrete ditch too.

That possibility has already been negated. I jest thee not Will. I NEVER sleep in that room and to wake up in it wrong way round was extremely weird.

(I had gone to bed in my usual bedroom that night)

Do you take Ambien or have a history of sleepwalking?

Correct.  There have been cases where people who take Ambien sleep walk and even sleep drive and have no recollection of it the following day.  If you take one and start drinking, it will put a stupid smile on your face.
